Tournament Recap - Yonex Bristol Swifts Cup 2026

Can you believe we are already 4 months into 2026?

This year, over 20 BJMF players signed up for the annual Yonex Bristol Swifts Cup (11–12 April), and our players performed exceptionally! 🥳

There were far too many matches to highlight, but we would like to give a special shout-out to some of our new players/partnerships 😉

Hein and Yi Lian, playing mixed together for the first time, WON their group with some amazing shot-making, WOW, just WOW! They came so close in the QFs, competing brilliantly in two tight sets (18-21, 18-21).
Michael and Luis, teaming up for their first tournament together, edged both their group matches (17-21, 21-15, 25-23; 19-21, 21-17, 26-24), dominated their first elimination round (21-19, 21-10), and then fell just short in the QFs (17-21, 21-18, 15-21). Just take a minute to process those crazy scores 🤪
Yue, alongside playing mixed doubles with her go-to partner Samuel, also tried out women's doubles this time. She and her pratner (Laura from another club) dominated the group stage (21-11, 21-9; 21-9, 21-10; 21-16; 21-10) and came away with a bronze medal! 👏
